<p>Mysuru: Bus users on Thursday were severely inconvenienced as a total of 2,162 KSRTC buses from Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Tumakuru, Puttur and Shivamogga divisions were diverted to ferry people for ‘Janakalyana Swabhimani Samavesha’ held in Hassan.</p>.<p>The RTC buses were used from 7 am to 5 pm. </p>.<p>The bus service in Hassan division was hit badly. A minor scuffle ensued when the students in Bilikere of Hunsur taluk tried to board the convention-bound bus. They expressed their anguish by removing the banner attached to the bus. The students, joined by the villagers, staged a flash protest against the inconvenience caused to them due to lack of buses. The police intervened and pacified the students and their parents.</p>.<p>Similar protests were witnessed at several places. Mofussil services in several taluks of Hassan district were affected. </p>.<p>According to KSRTC officials, as many as 287 buses out of 575 buses from Mysuru city division; 350 buses (out of 748) from Mysuru rural division; 150 buses (of total 529) from Mandya division; 300 (610) buses from Hassan division; 275 buses from Chamarajanagar division; 800 buses from Chikkamagaluru, Davangere, Tumakuru, Puttur, Shivamogga were used to ferry people for the convention. </p>.<p>Officials informed that they could manage the situation with 500 BMTC buses, which were diverted to Mysuru region, including 150 for Mysuru city division and 50 for rural division. Hundred buses from KSRTC central division were also diverted to Mysuru region to manage the crowds. </p>.<p>Officials of KSRTC Mysuru urban division said that they avoided the process of crew change in the depot from 12 pm to 3 pm, and they completed the process in the bus stand itself. With that, they could avail 125 additional buses to manage the crowd apart from buses availed from BMTC. </p>.<p>KSRTC Mysuru rural division officials said that with over 50 additional buses, kept standby in depots, and extra buses from BMTC and Central division, they could manage the situation. </p>
