Former Mysuru and Kodagu MP A H Vishwanath, on Saturday, said it a part of the hidden agenda of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to observe June 21 as the International Yoga Day, to force the people to pay tribute to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Hedgevar.

Addressing media persons, here, Vishwanath said, Hedgevar commemorative day coincides with Yoga Day. Though, it was the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre that proposed to the United Nations (UN) to celebrate Yoga Day, the present government fixed the schedule.

Valentine’s Day

When the Central government is spending heavily on publicising Yoga Day, why the same government is averse to February 14 celebrated as Valentine’s Day’, questioned Vishwanath.

Vishwanath said, “We are not opposed to Yoga, but against the hidden agenda of the BJP-led NDA government behind organising the event”. It is unbecoming on the part of the BJP, that is distracting the attention of the people during prominent days.

On December 6, the day of Ambedkar Parinirvan, the saffron brigade razed the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Vishwanath pointed out.
