Kashmiri separatists divided

Moderate faction of the Hurriyat led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is ready for dialogue. But the hardliners led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani is against it.

Despite the tough resistance of the hardline separatists and militants, the moderate faction of Hurriyat has made up its mind to go ahead with the dialogue process. Mirwaiz has already completed his visit of Muslim majority areas in Jammu region, where he addressed series of public meetings to garner support for the talks. “There is no option but to solve the Kashmir issue through talks only,” Mirwaiz said.
