<p>Thiruvananthapuram: Close on the heels of the row over Mohanlal starrer film <em><a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/entertainment/l2-empuraan-movie-review-strange-brew-of-politics-and-action-3468103">L2: Empuraan</a></em>, the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/enforcement-directorate">Enforcement Directorate </a>carried out raids at the offices of one of the producers of the film and prominent businessman Gokulam Gopalan in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. </p><p><br>According to sources, the raids are being carried out at several places including his offices in Kozhikode in Kerala and Gokulam Chit Fund's office in Kodambakkam and at his Neelangarai residence. The raids were said to be in connection with complaints of money laundering and violation of foreign exchange laws. Earlier also Gopalan's business group had faced probe by central agencies. </p>.Empuraan: Censorship under duress.<p>ED is yet to officially confirm the fresh developments.</p><p>Sources said that the current raids are part of investigation into the suspected money laundering through exaggerated collection reports of films produced and distributed by his firm Gokulam Movies.<br></p><p>Earlier also the Income Tax department had initiated a probe into the reports that 2024 Malayalam film <em>Manjummel Boys</em>, which was distributed by Gokulam Movies, had a record collection of Rs. 250 crore.
