<p>Thiruvananthapuram: A police case has been registered against BJP-RSS workers who staged a protest against Mahatma Gandhi's great grandson Tushar Gandhi for terming RSS a 'poison'.</p><p>The police action came close on the heels of <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/kerala">Kerala</a> Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/pinarayivijayan">Pinarayi Vijayan</a> flaying the incident and Opposition Congress demanding that the Sangh Parivar workers should be booked.</p><p>It was while speaking after unveiling the statue of Gandhian Gopinathan Nair at Neyyatinkara on the suburbs of Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday evening that Tushar termed RSS as 'poison'.</p><p>"We would be able to defeat the BJP. But the RSS is poison. We have to be very cautious about it because if it spreads in the circulation system of our country, then all is lost. The RSS is more dangerous than the British rule," Tushar said in his speech.</p><p>A group of BJP - RSS workers shouted slogans against him and tried to waylay him demanding that the statement should be withdrawn. No one has been named in the case yet.</p><p>CM Vijayan said in a statement that the protest against Tushar was an attack against the democracy and secularism of the country. </p><p>"The mentality of those who protested against Tushar Gandhi is not different from the attitude of those who assassinated Gandhiji," he said.</p><p>Opposition leader V D Satheesan of the Congress said, "What Tushar Gandhi said was only a political reality. The attack on him should be considered as an insult to Gandhiji."</p><p>Coincidentally, the RSS-BJP protest against Tushar took place on the day that marked the centenary of Gandhiji meeting the known social reformer Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri on the suburbs of Thiruvananthapuram. Tushar had also attended a function in this connection on Wednesday.</p>
