Air India to set up South Asia’s largest flying training hub in Amravati

'With state-of-the-art facilities, a digitally enabled campus, and a comprehensive training ecosystem, Air India is laying the foundation for a new era in aviation excellence,' said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mumbai: Tata Group-owned Air India will set up South Asia’s largest Flying Training Organisation (FTO) in Amravati in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

“This visionary initiative of setting up of the flying training hub will not only strengthen India’s position in the global aviation industry but also give economic boost, enable employment generation, new opportunities for aspiring pilots,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday.

Fadnavis also asserted that Air India is charting a bold course toward redefining the future of aviation.

“The decision to place an order for 34 trainer aircraft and establish South Asia’s largest Flying Training Organisation in Amravati by mid-2025 is a real game changer,” he said.

“With state-of-the-art facilities, a digitally enabled campus, and a comprehensive training ecosystem, Air India is laying the foundation for a new era in aviation excellence,” said Fadnavis, who is also the Chairman of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC).

Meanwhile, Air India thanked the Maharashtra government for its support.
