Amit Shah conveniently ignored terror attacks that occurred under BJP's rule: Congress leader in Maharashtra

New Delhi: Amid the debate in Parliament on Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, the Maharashtra Congress on Tuesday slammed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for making false statements.

“While mentioning the terrorist attacks during the Congress regime, he conveniently ignored those that occurred under the BJP's rule. It was during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government that the Parliament was attacked, the Akshardham attack occurred, and in the Kandahar hijacking case, then External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh personally escorted five notorious terrorists to Kandahar with full security,” said Atul Londhe, chief spokesperson of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

“Even inviting Pakistan's ISI to Pathankot was a grave mistake committed by the BJP government. In truth, it is the BJP government that has betrayed the nation,” he said.

According to him, Shah falsely accused the Congress government.

“Contrary to his claims, the Congress government never returned the bodies of terrorists. Afzal Guru and Mohammed Ajmal Kasab were hanged and buried in the jail itself. On the other hand, in 2015, after Yakub Memon — convicted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts — was executed, his body was handed over to his family,” he said.

“ Amit Shah should get his facts straight. It was the Vajpayee government that held the most discussions with the Hurriyat Conference, yet Amit Shah continues to target Congress. Dr. Manmohan Singh was born in Pakistan and served as Prime Minister for ten years, yet never visited Pakistan. In contrast, Narendra Modi went to Pakistan uninvited and dined on biryani with Nawaz Sharif. Modi had even invited Nawaz Sharif to his swearing-in ceremony,” Londhe reminded.

“During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan was merely the front; the real mastermind was China, which orchestrated everything — as stated by Deputy Chief of Army Staff Rahul K. Singh. However, Amit Shah did not have the courage to name China. Even while speaking on the issue of the United Nations, Amit Shah lied. The United Nations was established in 1945 with America, Britain, France, China, and Russia as its members — and India was not yet independent at that time,” Londhe pointed out.
