<p>Mumbai: Breaking his silence over the surprising results in Maharashtra polls, MNS President Raj Thackeray said that his party’s then sitting MLA Raju Patil did not get a single vote from his village, which has around 1,400 voters.</p><p>“From his village, Raju Patil did not get a single vote... how is it possible? Of the 1,400 votes that Raju Patil was supposed to get, not a single vote was received from his village?,” Raj asked addressing a party meeting in Mumbai on Thursday. </p><p>Raju Patil has won the 2019 polls from Kalyan Rural in Thane district, however, in 2024, he lost the elections. </p><p>“We have a corporator from Marathwada who was a candidate for the Assembly elections. He had around 5,500 votes in the civic elections but in Assembly elections he got 2,500 votes…senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat, who was elected with a huge margin seven times, loses in this election by 10 thousand votes?,” he pointed out. </p>.People turn to MNS to solve problems, forget it while voting: Raj Thackeray.<p>Raj said that opposition parties suffered setbacks in the Vidhan Sabha polls but he was silent for some time as he was analysing the results.</p><p>"On the day of the results, there was an unusual silence across Maharashtra. The kind of celebrations that should have happened did not take place. Even some people from the RSS, whom I spoke to were surprised. One of them jokingly asked me -- 'Why is there so much silence? Someone must have won, right?' So what did that silence indicate?" he said, hitting out at the BJP.</p><p>“How Ajit Pawar-led NCP won 42 seats in the assembly polls, while Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP) won only 10….Congress secured the maximum 13 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and Sharad Pawar-led NCP-SP won 8 seats in the parliamentary polls, but managed to win only 10 assembly seats. On the other hand, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP had won only one Lok Sabha seat, but bagged 42 Assembly seats. How is that possible?,” the MNS chief asked. </p><p>Speaking about allegations against him that he frequently changes his political stand, Thackeray said: ”People say I change my stand, but do they even understand what that means? Look at how others have changed sides for their own benefit. The current cabinet mostly comprises leaders who were earlier with Shiv Sena and Congress. They will not be questioned, but you will keep hearing from the media that Raj Thackeray changes his stance…. what they do is love and us, it is described as rape.”</p>
