<p>Mumbai: With a week to go for the mega show of strength by the Thackeray cousins—Uddhav and Raj—on the issue of Marathi pride, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders hit the ground and social media platforms as part of a massive outreach programme even as the Congress and Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) and Left parties backed the rally against the three-language formula.</p><p>The leadership of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS has started working on the modalities of the July 5 mega-protest. </p><p>Mounting an offensive on Saturday, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut, who is an aide of Uddhav, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief and Raj, the MNS president, said that Maharashtra government is making Hindi compulsory because of pressure from the Centre and the RSS. </p><p>“The Maha Yuti government has imposed Hindi as a third language in Marathi and English schools for classes 1 to 5 due to the pressure from the BJP-led Centre and the RSS,” said Raut. </p>.Maharashtra govt orders document check to filter out Bangladeshis.<p>Meanwhile, the MNS Mumbai president and spokesperson was seen walking on the streets and travelling in local trains meeting people seeking their support for the protest.</p><p>"Sharad Pawar has extended his support for the morcha on July 5. I have spoken to Sharad Pawar. Pawar has said that he will try to come. The Congress party will also participate in the morcha. Dalit Panthers, PWP, Left parties and various organisations will also join. All Marathi people will be united," said Raut.</p><p>“Ever since the government order to make Hindi compulsory from class 1 in Maharashtra was issued, the Congress party has taken the stand that this decision should be revoked. This is a crooked plan by the Sangh and the BJP to eliminate all the languages in the 8th list and keep only Hindi as the only language,” Maharashtra Congress president Harshavardhan Sapkal said.</p><p>State NCP (SP) president Jayant Patil formally supported the protest meeting and urged people and party workers to extend support. </p>
