A 28-year-old man hurled a shoe at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while he was addressing a press conference on the second phase of odd-even scheme on Saturday.
The accused identified himself as Ved Prakash of Aam Aadmi Sena’s national general secretary – a splinter group of the Aam Aadmi Party. He has been arrested in a case filed with IP Estate police station.
The shoe did not reach Kejriwal. Following the attack on Kejriwal, AAP supporters bashed up Prakash. “Call details of Ved prakash Sharma should be probed. He called BJP Delhi leader right before attacking,” Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra later said on Twitter.
The police took Prakash under detention after AAP workers forcefully evicted him from the Delhi Secretariat’s media centre.
