<p>All eight passengers in a commercial SUV died after it collided head-on with a sand-laden truck on the NH-2 in Nagaland's Tseminyu district on Wednesday morning.</p><p>Police said the SUV was on its way from Mokokchung to the state capital Kohima when the mishap took place. The collision was so strong that the SUV was dragged several meters along the highway before it plummeted below the hilly road. The truck was on its way from Merapani in neighbouring Assam to Kohima.</p>.Nagaland Assembly passes resolution not to implement Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act.<p>Police said the deceased included two males and six women. </p><p>Police said the truck was also badly damaged in the mishap. Two including the truck driver have been arrested and an investigation was started to identify the exact cause of the collision, police said.</p><p>Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condoled the deaths and asked police to take appropriate steps to probe the incident. The CM announced that the Nagaland government would provide an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of each of the deceased. </p><p>The bodies have been handed over to their families in Kohima after post-mortem, police said.</p>
