<p> <br />Eighteen-year-old Michael Blosil, 18, leapt from his apartment around 9 pm on Friday after leaving a note saying he intended to kill himself due to a long battle with depression that made him feel as if he had no friends, celebrity news television programme ‘Entertainment Tonight’ reported.<br /><br />“My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time,” Marie Osmond said in a statement.<br /><br />The Osmond Brothers rose to fame in the 1970s and were soon joined onstage by Marie Osmond, who scored her first solo hit with “Paper Roses” in 1973.<br /><br />Three years later, she and her brother Donny began hosting the TV variety show “Donny & Marie”, which featured appearances by their brothers and celebrities. Recently, Marie Osmond appeared on the popular TV show “Dancing With the Stars”.<br /><br />Michael was Marie Osmond’s adopted son with her second husband, Brian Blosil, from whom she is divorced.<br /><br />Marie Osmond suffered postpartum depression in the 1990s and wrote about her experience in a book “Behind the Smile: My Journey out of Postpartum Depression”.</p>
