Parineeti Chopra lauds husband Raghav Chadha for solving problem of overpriced food in airports

Parineeti Chopra on Tuesday congratulated her husband and AAP MP Raghav Chadha for solving an actual problem, calling him a true leader of the people, following the success of the Udaan Yatri Cafe, something the MP had advocated for in the Parliament's winter session.

Days after it was reported that the Udaan Yatri Cafe located in the departure area of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport of Kolkata was successfully attracting a footfall of 900 people daily, AAP MP Raghav Chadha's wife, actor Parineeti Chopra took to X to laud her husband's efforts to push for the initiative.

Posting a video where it is portrayed how Chadha's speech pushed for the affordable cafe initiative in airports, along with visuals from the cafe, and Chadha's appreciation for it, Parineeti wrote, "So so proud of you, my @raghav_chadha, for being a true leader for the people, and fixing a real problem!

Overpriced food at airports is an issue that resonates with so many Indians (including us), and your voice has brought a real change starting with the #UdaanYatriCafe. Yayy for cheaper food and drinks at airports!

During the winter session of the Parliament, the AAP MP had raised the issue of the exorbitant prices that airport stores and restaurants were charging passengers, asking the union government to intervene on the same and pushing for affordable food in airports.

In the same session, MoS Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol announced the launch of the Udaan Yatri Cafe initiative in Kolkata.

Following that, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu inaugurated the cafe during the centenary celebration of the Kolkata airport on December 21 last year.

Udann Yatri Cafe is the country’s first and only ‘affordable food outlet’ at an airport, and clocked a daily footfall of around 900 in its first month.
