Jaipur: A judge in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur bench today pulled up the police and district administration for blocking roads and creating traffic jams in Jodhpur to celebrate the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, in contrast to Lord Ram, who he said, had created a bridge to approach Lanka.

Taking suo moto cognizance of chaos caused due to road barriers and blocks, Justice Dinesh Mehta in an order said the entire country is celebrating Pran Prathishtha Mahotsava of Ram temple in Ayodhya but the real celebration would be if the society respects and follows the ideal and virtues which Lord Ram embodies and is worshipped as an ideal person-Maryada Puroshattam.

The court said that it was noticed that the administration/some unscrupulous people had installed barricades and blocked the entire way leading to the High Court which had resulted in a chaotic situation and complete jam on the road, which is the main highway road connecting the main city to the High Court, Judicial Academy and Pali and Sirohi etc.

He added that while fully associating with the sentiments of millions of people on the advent of ‘Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav', this court is of the view that the blockage of the road, particularly the road connecting the High Court, amounts to inference in the administration of justice. He added that it is ironic that while Lord Ram had created a bridge to approach Lanka, people have blocked the way resulting in complete road block and impasse.

A notice was issued to the Commissioner of Police and District Collector to appraise this Court as to whether these barriers have been installed by the administration and whether any permission was granted to do the same.
