Some city-based artistes even drew cartoons for Laxman who became emotional as he watched them.
A cake was cut to celebrate the birthday of Laxman, who has regaled generations with his brilliant satire targeting politicians, corrupt bureaucrats through the 'Common Man' caricature.
Laxman has been undergoing speech therapy, since he suffered a series of paralytic strokes in the recent past.
