Ten feared killed in TN blast

 While initial reports suggested that 10 people were feared killed in the explosion, official sources in Tiruttani, taluk headquarters, told Deccan Herald over the phone that five to six people might have been killed. The blast in the cracker godown occurred around 9 pm, barely three hours before Deepavali celebrations.

“Everyone, including the district collector, is rushing there; we do not know whether the explosion was triggered by any cracker fired from outside, as part of the festivities, finding its way into the godown accidentally or something triggered the blast from inside the godown itself,” the sources said.
