'Upset' DTP operator makes Sunny Leone voter in UP

Allegedly ''upset'' with his transfer from urban to rural area in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, about 400 km from here, a DTP operator entered the name of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone as a voter from the district.

The operator, Vishnu Kumar Verma, was so upset at his transfer that he did not stop there and went on to register elephant, deer and pigeon in the voters' list, causing a huge embarrassment to the electoral authorities in the state.

The discrepancies were detected during the verification of the voters' list, currently on in the state.

According to sources, the picture of Sunny Leone appears on the voters' list against the name of one Durgawati. The pictures of elephant, deer and pigeon also appeared in the list against different names.

District officials said that the errors were ''deliberate'' and held the DTP operator responsible.

Sweet revenge

''The DTP operator was upset after he was transferred to a remote rural area from the town...he deliberately entered the pictures,'' said a senior district official in Ballia.

An FIR was lodged with the police against the operator and the matter was being investigated, sources said.

The state election officials said that a directive had been issued to the district authorities to undertake the verification work carefully so as to detect errors and take appropriate measures to remove them.
