<p>New Delhi: Insisting that Maha Kumbh event was organised well, BJP MP <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/hema-malini">Hema Malini</a> on Tuesday said the stampede was not a "big incident" and is being "exaggerated,<br><br>"We had gone to Kumbh... We had a nice bath... Everything was well managed. It is right that the incident (stampede) took place ... Itna kuch bada nai hua tha (it was not a very big incident). I don't know how big it was. It is being exaggerated,” Malini told reporters in the Parliament House complex.<br><br>“ It was very well-managed. It is their job to say wrong things."<br><br>Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut during the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address, triggered an uproar by claiming that "2,000 people died" in the January 29 Maha Kumbh stampede,<br><br>"When the stampede happened 4-5 days back, it was told (that) it was not stampede but a rumour...30 people died. Whether the figure is true? Don't hide it... We are responsible even if one person died...The figures that we have seen with our eyes is 2,000 people were dead," he said.<br><br>As treasury bench members protested, Deputy Chairman Harivansh asked Raut to authenticate the figure. The MP agreed to authenticate the figure. <br><br>Lok Sabha MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Tuesday said he wants politicians and those with big money attending the Maha Kumbh to die there so that they can attain "moksha" (salvation).<br><br>Participating in a debate on the Motion of Thanks to the president's address in Lok Sabha, the Independent MP from Bihar's Purnea also claimed that 300-600 bodies were removed from the Kumbh area following the January 29 stampede..<br><br>"I won't name the 'baba' but will quote him... He said all those who died in the stampede have attained 'mokhsa'. So, I want that most 'babas', politicians and those with big money should also take dip (in the Sangam) and die there to attain 'moksha' or 'kalyan'. I am saying such 'babas' should get 'moksha'," he said.</p>
