<p>Lucknow: Millions of devotees took holy dip at the Sangam (the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Sarswati rivers) in Prayagraj on the occasion of ‘Maghi Purnima’ on Wednesday.</p><p>According to the officials, an estimated 2.5 crore devotees took holy dip at the sangam. There was no report of any untoward incident and the devotees didn’t face any problems in reaching the ‘Triveni’. Flower petals were showered on the devotees from choppers.</p><p>Huge crowds of devotees were seen on the pontoon bridges and the roads leading to the sangam. </p>.Mukesh Ambani visits Maha Kumbh with family.<p>Uttar Pradesh police chief Prashant Kumar said that an effective crowd management system was implemented in the Maha Kumbh following the incident of stampede on the occasion of ‘Mauni Amavasya’ in which 30 devotees were killed and dozens others injured.</p><p>Singh said that a close watch was kept on the crowd in Ayodhya, Varanasi and Chitrakoot as a large number of devotees were heading there after visiting the Maha Kumbh.</p><p>He said that a war room was set up in the state capital to monitor the movement of crowds in the Maha Kumbh. ‘’We get live feed from Prayagraj....more than 2,500 CCTVs are active in the Mela area,’’ he added.</p><p>UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath also monitored the movement of crowds in the Maha Kumbh from the war room, sources said.</p><p>Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty visited Maha Kumbh on Wednesday. Former India cricketer Anil Kumble also took the holy dip at the sangam with his wife.</p><p>Elaborate security arrangements were put in place to manage the huge crowds of devotees in the Mela area on the occasion of Maghi Purnima. The entire Prayagraj town was declared a ‘no vehicle zone’ with only medical and administrative vehicles being allowed in the zone. Holding areas have been set up to prevent crowd build up near the sangam. All VVIP passes were cancelled.</p>
