Your dream to get Kashmir will never be fulfilled, India tells Pak

India on Saturday hit out at Pakistan, saying the “delusional though dangerous dream” to make Kashmir a part of its country will never be fulfilled.

“The whole of Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India. You will never be able to make this heaven on earth into a terror hell,” External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said in response to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s statement that Kashmir would someday become a part of his country.

Addressing a rally at Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Friday, Sharif said that New Delhi’s oppressive measures would not be able to suppress Kashmir’s struggle for freedom (from India). He also said Pakistan’s prayers were with the Kashmiris and they were waiting for the day Kashmir would become a part of them.

“Pakistan’s dirty money, dangerous terrorists and duplicitous state institutions seek to destabilise the region. The statement from none other than the Pakistan prime minister has betrayed this despicable design. But I repeat that this dream will never be fulfilled,” Sushma said.

Pakistan has been raising its pitch on Kashmir in the wake of violent protests in the Valley following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani by security forces in India.

Sushma said the Pakistan prime minister had called Wani a martyr despite the slain terrorist being the commander of a banned terror organisation and carrying a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head. She noted that Wani perpetrated heinous crimes,  including the murders of elected representatives of local bodies and security personnel.
