Kaveri Sene Convener Ravi Changappa has warned of initiating a legal fight against some people who have been creating confusion among people on Jamma-Bane land issue.
Addressing reporters in Madikeri on Tuesday, he said that some activists are creating ambiguity on the issue with some vested interest.
Senior Advocate B A Machaiah said that the Jamma-Bane has become a tough subject for many people in the district. The elected representatives too have not been trying to clarify the confusions.
Jamma-Bane is a category of government land. There are various jamma lands in Chelavara and Bhagamandala. Some people have been registering these lands illegally and selling them later, he added.
Jamma Bane land is a part of forest area. The Supreme Court has ordered that no ownership can be granted for Jamma Bane land, said Machaiah.
