Land allotted to entrepreneurs for setting up industries, but being utilised for other purposes will be recovered after issuing notices, Industries Minister K J George said on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters here, he said the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) had started the process of issuing notices to recover such lands. Replying to a query, he said 7,000 acres of land had been acquired for the setting up of a mega food park at Vasanthapura industrial estate in Tumakuru.
The remaining 3,000 acres required for the park would be acquired soon. “The Centre has promised a grant of Rs 3,500 crore as its share for the setting up of the park.” He said a three-day technology summit will be held in Bengaluru from November 29. National and international experts in biotechnology, nanotechnology and 5G will be participating in the summit, he added.
