Sabarimala temple opens: uphill task for police, Kerala govt

As the Lord Ayyappa temple in Kerala's Sabarimala opened on Friday evening for the 62-day long Mandala Pooja-Magaravilaku annual pilgrimage season, it is an uphill task for the Kerala police and the government to manage the protestors and implement the Supreme Court verdict allowing women of all ages to the shrine.

Sabarimala temple opens for annual pilgrimage today

An all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram failed to achieve any breakthrough with the Opposition – Congress and BJP – and the government sticking to their known stands.
