A good pair of jeans is a versatile product in the wardrobe. They come in different fabrics, styles, fit, wash and details, for both men and women. Fits from super-skinny and skinny to ankle-length and high-waist fits for women are the talking point of the season. Most of the products come with stretch and give a great fit and comfort. There are some developments in the fit like Mom fit and Boyfriend fit, and in slims for comfort. These fits are either high or mid-waist. Along with a looser and relaxed fit, flared bottoms are going to be a major trend in the coming seasons. These fits will be in various shades of indigo, ranging from raw-washed, darkest indigo to heavy-washed and used- look ice blue indigos.
Apart from fits and washes, there are some very bold and visible trends in jeans:
Doodle jeans: Doodles and slogans are the new trend in town. These sketchy statement trends are a runaway success and double up as a walking sketchbook of sorts. Hand-painted with details, badges, inscriptions, messages and graphics, whether literal or abstract, all have a place in this trend. The trend is to be yourself and show your inner-self confidently. Someone who makes their own rules, who lives for freedom and finds beauty in everything he does. It is for a person who is socially unconventional, especially one who is involved and inclined towards arts, music, craft, theatre, and other creative fields.
Mended and repaired jeans: Distressed and worn out denim is an ongoing ‘never-go-wrong’ trend for jeans lovers. This season, the trend is moving one step up and mending those torn and rugged jeans is getting on as fashion. Different patterns, stitching techniques and patching fabrics are used to create a wide range of these up-cycled denim products.
Vintage joggers: A comfy trend in the fashion world. The jogger is the new must-have style and it’s dominating the street style scene. No longer just for the sports-inclined, these comfortable pants are a new wardrobe staple. Joggers are becoming ever more ingrained into the modern guy’s wardrobe. Contemporary joggers are stylish, comfortable, and exceptionally versatile. Joggers are also getting revamped by adding new washes to give it a different look and feel. Vintage washes are a big trend and adding those washes to a comfortable pair of joggers will surely make you trendier this season.
Side stripes: Another trend this season is side seam details, whether colour blocked or highlighted with contrast or tonal tapes. This trend will be seen across different fits for both men and women. It adds an extra little flair to your look. Embrace this style which is definitely there to elevate your casual outfit. The trend is picking up in full throttle and the perfect time to get your hands on a pair of these. The sheer love for tracksuit bottoms is seen getting translated to become the hybrid that is the side stripe trouser.
Camouflage details: Using camouflage prints of different patterns at offbeat placements is trending in a big way and will be of high fashion this season. Along with army- and military-inspired camouflages, experimental, fun-filled camouflages inspired by nature in different colour variations will be trending.
Coloured jeans: Along with various shades of classic indigos and regular blacks, there is an upcoming trend in coloured jeans. These jeans for men and women are classic in nature but trendy in colour, and can be a perfect pair for various social, casual and official occasions. No more feeling the blues, coloured denims are here to light up your day. From the palest pastel to the boldest primary hue, fashion is about having fun and exploring your flamboyant side.
