Told Sam Pitroda he should be ashamed: Rahul Gandhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said he called up controversial Sam Pitroda after his insensitive comments on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and asked him to publicly apologise for it.

Addressing a rally in Punjab a short while ago, Rahul said he completely disapproves of the comments made by Sam Pitroda. “I told him (Sam) that he was wrong. He should be ashamed of what he had said,” Rahul said, adding that he has told Sam Pitroda that he should apologise to the nation for his comments.

A few days ago, Sam had commented when asked about the riots saying “Hua to hua” (It happened so happened) which snowballed into a major controversy leading to protests from Sikhs and reactions from even the Prime Minister.
