Cocktail spree for Delhiites

The cocktail culture in India has always been vibrant and has evolved over the period of time. With the propensity towards the finest cocktail in India, Elixir Coterie, a platform which brings alcohol connoisseurs together, is hosting an exclusive Delhi Cocktail Week (DCW) from December 12 to December 19.

According to Archit Singhal, CEO and founder, DCW, something like a cocktail happens all across the world and are even bigger and grander than food festivals.

He tells Metrolife, “When we started thinking about this concept, we knew that Delhi would be the place to do this since here the nightlife is not restricted to the weekends, like it is in Mumbai and Bangalore.”

The event is brought for the first time in India in association with renowned bars and lounges.

“The cocktail culture in Delhi has taken a huge leap and people do they take their drinks very seriously,” says Singhal adding that even though people are accepting something new and different everyday, yet there is a huge gap in the industry from the developed markets.

So, a weeklong celebration of the cocktail craftsmanship which will be taking place at more than 150 restaurants and  bars across the city with a variety of tasting sessions, parties and master classes in the art of pouring the perfect concoction.

Patrons can buy wrist priced at Rs 599, Rs 1,099 and Rs 5,499 and can avail unlimited cocktails each worth Rs 200 and Rs 400 from a pre-selected menu of signature cocktails in these lounges and bars.

“We have also invited some of the best bartenders from the top 50 bars across the world. They will host cocktail competition. This will give an opportunity to the bartenders in India to learn from them and also to the customers where they get to experience something new and different,” says Singhal.

Hannah Van Ongevalle from Belgium, Simone Caporale from London, Hannah Waters from Singapore, Antonio Lai from Hong Kong, Arijit Bose from Singapore, Hemant Pathak from New York, Andrea Fidora from Dubai, Karina Agarwal, EvgenyaPrazdnik and Aanchal Kaushal from India will all be showcasing bartending techniques from across the world during the DCW.

Venue: PCO, Smokeys, Lodi, Beer Café, Cafe Delhi Heights, Mamagoto, Bulldogs, Vault Café, Garam Dharam, Hungry Monkey, Zerruco, Barcelos, Fork You, Westin, Le Meriden, Summerhouse Café, The Backyard, Raasta, Yes Minister, and Hardrock Café, from December 12 to December 19. Time: All day.
