People in Central Bengaluru who miss the food of Lazio Restaurant, that was situated at Haudin Road in Ulsoor, can now relish the same taste in Frazer Town. A new branch of Lazio Restaurant has been opened after almost a decade by Mohammed Nauman and Shariq Umar, the younger generation of the owner’s family.
Care has been taken to mix an element of newness with nostalgia. While the menu is largely the same, the interiors have been redone to give a homely feel.
As the name denotes, Lazio specialises in Continental dishes. Though these dominate the menu, there are Chinese and Indian dishes as well. Lazio’s main attractions are its steaks. Varieties of beef, chicken and fish steaks, with mashed potatoes, boiled veggies and garlic bread, are worth a try. They cost between Rs 290 to Rs 550.
Burgers are also sought after items in Lazio; they too are available in beef, chicken and fish varieties, beside lamb. The authentic Italian pastas are another highlight here. A big portion of lasagne costs Rs 320 (non-veg) or Rs 290 (vegetarian). Side dishes are french fries, potato wedges, cheesy fries, saucy fries, bread and more. All the usual Chinese dishes, including fried rice and noodles, are served here.
Some of our personal favourites here include fish fingers, chicken nuggets, barbecued chicken and prawns, lamb chops, beef chilly and stuffed mushrooms. Be sure to try their Filet Mignon and Wiener Schnitzel. In their menu, they have a section titled ‘Exclusive’ which has just Mutton Biriyani under it. No prizes for guessing why!
In desserts, options are aplenty but our first choice is Lazio’s special Caramel Custard; it costs only Rs 120.
The staff at Lazio is helpful and willing to cook all dishes as per customers’ requirements. Even the cooking oils and dressing flavours can be decided by the customer. They also have a ‘Happy Hour’ for the restaurant where different dishes, mainly combos, are available at reduced rates.
The restaurant opens for lunch from 12 pm to 3 pm and for dinner from 7 pm to 11.30 pm.
Lazio is located at no 13, first floor, Mosque Road, Frazer Town. For details, call 080 4370 1131.
