Sliding roof adds charm to place

The Druid Garden in Sahakara Nagar offers Asian, Continental, European, North Indian and Mediterranean cuisine.

Imagine being at an open-roof restaurant for a date and it starts pouring. If you are at The Druid Garden, you don’t have to worry. The operable glass roof slowly slides above your heads and you can stay put.

This is just one of the many things that creates the perfect atmosphere for a romantic date here. Fresh air, dim fairy lights, a good sound system (such a rarity in non-music places in the city) which plays soothing melodies, old-fashion wooden chairs — we could go on.

The eye-catching menu cards with quirky names are attractive and the food does justice to the high hopes you get once you see these. Start your meal with a creamy bowl of soup.

The ‘Tom Yum Soup’ is a must try; it gives you the feel of a local Thai restaurant and the fresh lime aroma is a bonus. Make sure you save some space for their yummy pizzas. The ‘Neapolitan Style Pizza’ is a must try.

Though it has no fancy toppings, the aroma of tomatoes and the melting cheese is enough to gladden your tummy.

Don’t stuff yourself as the mouth-watering desserts are yet to come. Even if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, do try their ‘Sticky Toffee and Fig Pudding’. The fig pudding is healthy and tastes heavenly while the toffee takes you back to your childhood days.

If you are a coffee lover, opt for ‘The Bohemian Dunkel’; the light aftertaste of coffee lingers in your mouth. Hefeweizen is among their top-selling beers along with IPA (India pale ale) and Dunkelweizen.

PS — One among the few restaurants in north Bengaluru, The Druid Garden is crowded most of the time so be sure to make a reservation.

'The Druid Garden’ is located at Century Corbel - Commercial, 40/1, Sahakara Nagar main road. For details, contact 4677777.
