Unforgettable tribute

To play tribute to Ustad Bismillah Khan, The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) is organizing 'Music in the Park 2012'. One can experience the beauty of Indian Classical Music in harmony with nature with uplifting performances by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia (Flute) and Ustad Rashid Khan (Vocal). The performance will also feature Vijay Ghate (Tabla), Subhankar Banerjee (Tabla), Jyoti Goho (Harmonium) and Krishna Bongane (Vocal). Appease your senses with Hindustani vocal recital by Ragini Sharma at Epicentre, Gurgaon on March 28 from 7.30 pm onwards. Ragini is a disciple of Pt Prannath.

Swing to the minimal house music and be enraptured by one of the most bewitching performances by Hashback Hashish and Tritha. DJ/ Producer Hashback Hashish is known for experimenting with music. Tritha’s spellbounding voice connects with numerous music lovers from all over the world. Sarod recital

Enjoy Raag Rang Sarod recital by Smit Tiwari, disciple of Late Pt Suprabhat Pal and Chandra Shekhar Tiwari. The event organised in collaboration with SPANDAN Communications will be held in Amaltas Hall,  India Habitat Centre on March 25 from 7.00 pm onwards.

Sitar way

Lovers of classical music can enjoy a sitar recital by Suneera Kasliwal Vyas at India Habitat Centre (IHC), Lodhi Road on March 28 from 7 pm onwards. Suneera is a disciple of Pt Lalmani Mishra, Pt Ramdas Chakravarty, Dr K C Gangrade and Pt Uma Shankar Misra. This performance is a part of the HCL Concert Series. For details contact: 43663080.

Expert musician

Renowned vocalist S,t. Savita Devi will present an evening of Hori and Chaiti from Benaras Gharana. Daughter of late and renowned Siddheshwari Devi learned Thumri, Dadra, Chaiti, Kajri and Tappa from her illustrious mother. She is a purist and her thumri does not overflow into Khayal or vice versa. Likewise, her Hori, Kajri, Dadra, Tappa, Chaiti etc., are always separate and pure in content. Brazilian bongo

To enjoy popular Brazilian songs, head to IHC March 30 where Brazilian singer Badi Assad accompanied by Indian musicians will perform popular Brazilian songs. The performance presented by Embassy Of Brazil will begin from 7.30 pm.
