Focusing on reducing incidents of drunk driving and to promote road safety, Uber will provide its customers with secure ride options in various categories that have basic fares: UberGO (Rs 42), UberPool (Rs 36.75), HireGO (Rs 105), Hire Premier (Rs 105), Premier (Rs 66), UberXL (Rs 85) and HireXL (Rs 182.70), with additional charges which vary according to pickup and drop locations.
Assuring increased safety measures for New Year’s Eve, an Uber spokesperson says, “The emergency button can be used to connect with the local police. A safety toolkit was recently launched that allows riders to access all the safety features under one banner. One can also use the option to designate up to five loved ones with whom they will be regularly prompted to Share Trip.”
Ola has launched its third edition of flagship #PeekeMatChala campaign and will be providing its regular rides, according to area and availability. The rides available under Ola (in minimum charges) are Micro (Rs 50), Mini (Rs 60), Prime Sedan and Play (Rs 70), Prime SUV (Rs 80), Prime Exec (Rs 75) and Lux (Rs 170), with additional charges.
A source says, “We follow dynamic pricing, which varies according to the time of the day and the pick up/ drop points.” For those who would like to have a driver at their convenience, Ezi Drive, driver hire and cab services, is worth trying.
A representative says, “One can hire a driver for four hours for Rs 300, with additional Rs 80 charged for every extra hour. If you need a driver between 9 pm to 11 pm, there will be an additional charge of Rs 50. If you want to hire a driver after 11 pm, you will have to pay Rs 100 more.”
If you want to head to the city’s outskirts, you can hire a driver for eight hours for Rs 600, while drives to the airport will cost Rs 350 for four hours.
“Our drivers are experienced and have been screened to provide safety and security to customers,” he adds.
Ezi Drive also offers cab services, starting from a 4 hour/40 km package for Rs 750 for an Etios or Dzire, after which there is an additional charge of Rs 13 per km or per hour for Rs 200. There are also five and 12 hour packages to choose from.

Veerash, owner says, “Our packages depend on the number of passengers in the vehicle. For two passengers, one can opt for the Indica or Etios/Dzire. You can hire an Indica for an 8 hour/80 km package for Rs 1,200. Every extra km will be charged Rs 12 or Rs 100 per hour. An Etios or Dzire can be hired for Rs 1,600, after which every extra km will cost
Rs 14 or Rs 120 per hour.”
To avail the service from 11 pm to 6 am, an extra Rs 300 is levied. Road tolls and parking fees will be charged accordingly.
One of the biggest worries that pet parents have is to leave behind their furry pals when they go partying on New Year’s Eve.
