Last Updated 31 August 2018, 20:26 IST

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday promised to drop some “big bunker buster bombs” on the French Rafale aircraft deal of the Modi government.

The Congress alleged a “quid pro quo” deal between Anil Ambani's Reliance Entertainment and a company owned by the then French president's girlfriend.

“Globalised corruption. This Rafale aircraft really does fly far and fast! It's also going to drop some big bunker buster bombs in the next couple of weeks. Modiji please tell Anil, there is a big problem in France,” Rahul said.

The Congress also said that it would constitute a Commission of Inquiry into the Rafale deal when it comes to power if the Modi government did not accede to its demand for an investigation by a Joint Parliamentary Committee.

Film contract

“The company who is the beneficiary of the Rs 30,000 cr Offset Contract in the Rafale deal signed a film production contract with actress and then French President Francois Hollande’s partner Julie Gayet, just two days before the signing of the MoU with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for delivering 36 Rafale aircraft,” Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi told reporters here.
