Cong backing Maoists and fake activists: Amit Shah

Raising the patriotism pitch, BJP on Friday launched an all out attack on Rahul Gandhi accusing him of "politicising an issue of national security" and supporting "Maoists and fake activists" as the Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with the arrest of the five accused in Bhima Koregaon case.

BJP's attack on Congress also coincided with the second anniversary celebration of the surgical strike against Pakistan as Government kicked off the three-day Parakram Parv on Friday.

There is jubilation in BJP camp after the Supreme Court order on Bhima Koregaoon in which the apex court said that the arrests of activists across the country is not a case of merely expressing dissenting views or difference in political ideology but was related to their links with the members of banned organisation and its activities.

Urban naxalism

Latching on to the SC verdict, party chief Amit Shah said on Twitter: "Those who stooped down to the level of politicising an issue of national security have been exposed by the Supreme Court's decision today. It is high time that the Congress clears it's stand on this critical issue of Urban Naxalism."

"There is only one place for idiocy and it's called the Congress. Support ‘Bharat Ke Tukde Tukde Gang’, Maoists, fake activists and corrupt elements. Defame all those who are honest and working," Shah tweeted.

As the BJP has been trying to project the 2019 Lok Sabha battle as a fight between Modi and all other parties ganged up against him, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "Congress wants to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it does not matter to it whether Pakistan does it or Maoists."

Calling this verdict an "indictment of Congress", Patra alleged that Rahul Gandhi was standing with Gautam Navlakha "who wants referendum in Kashmir and doesn’t consider Kashmir an integral part of India".
