The Chhattisgarh Congress chose a unique way to protest against rising fuel prices. Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupesh Baghel along with other MLAs rode bullock carts and bicycle to reach state Assembly from Congress headquarters covering a distance of more than 10 km on Wednesday.

Just as the procession started, oxen threw the cart as a result around half a dozen MLAs had to jump from the cart to save themselves. After covering some distance the MLAs had a verbal confrontation with reporters while those on bicycles with placards were stopped by the police.

Congress MLAs were holding placards that carried messages on farmers not being paid bonus for paddy procurement on minimum support price for the past two years among other issues.

The security personnel stopped the fleet on the gates of the Assembly, later Congress MLAs were allowed to enter the House.
