In Karnataka election 2018, INC candidate Bheema Naik L.B.P. won the Hagaribommanahalli Assembly seat after securing 78337 votes. The INC candidate defeated BJP candidate K.Nemiraja Naik by a margin of 7232 votes.
In 2018, Hagaribommanahalli constituency had 221213 electors, including 110918 males and 110273 females.
The constituency had 22 third gender voters in 2018.
After the 2018 polls, JD(S) and Congress formed a coalition government with H D Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister.
