EC website fails to update poll outcomes for two hours

The Election Commission on Tuesday failed to update trends of the Assembly polls in five states on its website for over two hours, apparently due to technical glitches.

The EC's dedicated website for disseminating poll outcomes www.eciresults.nic.in stopped displaying updated trends after 9:20 a.m. The EC sources said that the officials of the poll panel's Information Technology division started working on rectifying the problem soon after it had been brought to the attention of the commission.

The website resumed updating the trends shortly after 11:30 a.m.
