Fog, cold wave grip Delhi

The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.6 degree Celsius against Saturday's 7.7 C while visibility dropped to 100 metres at 5.30 am which, however, improved to 1000 metres later in the day.

Despite fog, the day temperature in the city has improved in the last couple of days.On Saturday, the maximum recorded was 22.3 degree C, one notch above normal.

Thick fog disrupted air operations at the IGI airport, throwing schedules of around 50 domestic and international flights out of gear and causing inconvenience to fliers.
Eight trains were cancelled and as many rescheduled due to poor visibility while over 100 trains are running several hous behind schedule.

A MeT official said dense fog will prevail in the city till January 27 morning.
"The duration and density of fog has started coming down. We expect the fog till 27th morning when there are chances of a strong western disturbance which may result in rain," he said.

The weatherman has predicted foggy weather tomorrow, with the maximum and minimum expected to hover around 23 degree C and 9 degree C, respectively.
