Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Thursday through his tweets blamed Telangana IT minister K Tarakarama Rao, known as KTR for the ongoing drug racket that shook the Telugu film industry.

"Huge drug scam in Telangana. Influential friends of TRS heir apparent involved. Let's see if they would be saved or prosecuted. Let's see", was Diggy's tweet.

Rao retorted with, “You’ve completely lost sir. Time to retire gracefully & do something worth your age. Glad that you've learnt to spell 'Telangana'."

Meanwhile, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee came out in support of Digvijaya by demanding a probe into the role of Tollywood friends of KTR in the drug racket. “What is wrong if our leader demands clarity? The drug racket has damaged the brand image of Hyderabad and all we want from the government is to come clean,” Council floor leader Shabbir Ali said.

A month ago, Digvijaya created a flutter by blaming Telangana police for allegedly enticing the local Muslim youth toward ISIS. Not only did the Telangana government and the DGP condemn his allegations, but a police case was filed against him by Telangana Youth leader Dinesh Chowdhary.

Meanwhile, cinematographer Syam K Naidu appeared before the special investigation team of the excise department on Thursday. The SIT had grilled director Puri Jagannath on Wednesday. Syam is a close associate of Jagannath. The investigators reportedly found Naidu's mobile number in the contact lists of three of the key accused arrested in the scam.
