India, Myanmar discuss bilateral relations

Top diplomats from India and Myanmar discussed bilateral security and defence cooperation as the two sides held foreign office consultation in New Delhi on Thursday.

In the meeting, the Indian side, led by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale hosted U Myint Thu, permanent secretary at Myanmar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in New Delhi for the 17th round of foreign office consultation.

Gokhale and Myint Thu reviewed the complete range of bilateral relations, including high-level visits, security and defence-related issues, boundary matters and border management, trade and commerce, development cooperation, connectivity, cultural and consular matters.

The senior diplomats also exchanged views on sub-regional, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
