I-T raids on JD(S) candidate from Khanapur

The Income Tax sleuths on Saturday raided the house of Khanapur JD(S) candidate Nasir Bhagwan at Gandhigawad in Khanapur taluk of Belagavi district.

The 11-member I-T team conducted searches at multiple properties of Bhagwan.

Bhagwan had recently declared assets worth Rs 191 crore in the affidavit furnished during the filing of nomination papers.

The taxmen also conducted searches at Bhagwan's house at Vidyanagar and office at Aravind Nagara in Hubballi.

The officials are questioning Bhagwan, his son Rameez and Raees at the Gandhigawad residence.
