DHNS, Kolkata, February 8

Accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of sitting on a dharna for those who looted the poor Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the “chowkidar” will not spare those who are trying to save the corrupt.

The Prime Minister in a no holds barred attack on Banerjee alleged that not only did she sat on a dharma for those against whom there are allegations of negligence in investigation but also asked why is she afraid of probe into the chit fund scam. He was addressing a party rally at Mainaguri in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal.

“Why are you (Banerjee)sitting on a dharna for those against whom there are allegations of negligence in the investigation...I want to assure the victims of Saradha, Narada and Rose Valley scams that this chowkidar will not spare them(who are supporting the corrupt),” said the Prime Minister.

He also said that neither those who have robbed the poor and nor those who are shielding the robbers will be spared. The Prime Minister’s comment comes days after Banerjee sat on a dharna against the CBI’s attempt to question the Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar at his residence in relation to the chit fund scam.

Taking a swipe at Banerjee for sitting on a dharna against CBI Modi said that no matter how many dharnas are held those who have looted the poor will be held accountable for every penny.

“For the first time in the history of the country a Chief Minister sat on a dharna in support of those who have looted the poor,” said Modi.

Reiterating his ‘mahamilavath’ jibe at the proposed ‘mahagathbandhan’ the Prime Minister said that he will foil their plans to save the middlemen and fraudsters.

“I want to tell all the parties included in the mahamilavath that Modi will not let their their plan to save middlemen and fraudsters succeed,” said Modi.

Training his guns on Congress president Rahul Gandhi and the state Congress leadership the Prime Minister said that while the Bengal Congress leader are alleging that there is anarchy in the state Gandhi is all praise for Banerjee.

The Prime Minister also slammed Congress for the remark of its Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev on scrapping triple talaq law if her party comes to power.

“Congress showed how low it can get for appeasement politics. It said that it will abolish the triple talaq law if it comes to power,” said Modi.

He also accused the West Bengal government of delaying the setting up of Calcutta High Court’s circuit bench in Jalpaiguri. Modi inaugurated the circuit bench during the day.
