After her boat ride from Prayagraj to Varanasi to canvass support for her party, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would be taking the train route to campaign in Ayodhya on Wednesday.

According to state Congress sources here, Priyanka would be holding a roadshow in the twin towns of Faizabad and Ayodhya besides addressing a series of small meetings.

Like her earlier visit to the state, the star campaigner of the grand old party would continue her temple hopping in the land of Lord Rama too.

Sources said that Priyanka would be paying obeisance at the famous Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya. The Congress leader is also likely to offer 'puja' at other temples in Ayodhya.

It's not yet clear if Priyanka would also be visiting the makeshift Ram temple.

"We have no information about that," remarked a local Congress leader.

The local administration also said that so far it had not received any intimation from the Congress about Priyanka visiting the makeshift Ram temple.

The Congress leader would be visiting Amethi, the Lok Sabha constituency of her brother and party president Rahul Gandhi, and campaign there for him.

Priyanka's visit assumes significance as few months ago, the town witnessed a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) sponsored 'Dharam Sabha' in which seers and sants had asked the BJP-led government at the Centre to make a law for the construction of the Ram temple.

BJP leaders, who had attended the meeting, had to face the ire of the sant community for failing to fulfill its promise for a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The Congress had won the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat in 2009 general elections after about two decades.

Its nominee Nirmal Khatri, however, slipped to fourth spot in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. BJP candidate Lallu Singh had romped home by a huge margin that year.
