Rahul asks Cong workers to help in rain-hit states

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday urged party workers and leaders to help those in need in the rain-hit regions of Kerala and Karnataka.

Rahul expressed concern over the widespread devastation caused by heavy rainfall across Kerala and Kodagu in Karnataka.

"This is the time for our workers & leaders to demonstrate the core Congress values of service & love. Please focus all our resources & people to help those in need," Rahul said.

On Thursday, Rahul had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to request him for special financial assistance to Kerala and increase the deployment of Army and Navy in the flood-hit state.

Modi is visiting Kerala on Friday and Saturday to take stock of the devastation caused by heavy rainfall, which has left 324 people dead.
