On a day the Centre effected a hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of kharif crops, Congress President Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ''backing a few industrialists'' and ''ignoring'' the farmers.

Rahul, who arrived on a two-day visit to Lok Sabha constituency of Amethi on Wednesday, also met the family of the farmer, who had died while waiting to sell his wheat at a government purchase centre in Amethi a few days back.

''Modiji waived the loan of a handful of industrialists and broke the backbone of small traders,'' the Congress leader said while addressing party workers.

He also took potshots at the ambitious Bullet Train project. ''It is not bullet train but magic train....Congress will complete this project,'' Rahul said.

The Congress president met the family of the deceased farmer and assured them of every help.

Rahul will be visiting several villages and meeting a cross section of the electorate. He is also likely to discuss preparations for the next LS polls with party leaders in Amethi, sources said.
