Rain-intensity reduces in Maharashtra

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre of IMD and Skymet Weather, In the last two days the intensity of rain has reduced in Maharashtra.

Over Wednesday and Thursday, the hill station in Satara district received maximum rainfall.

In the last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Vengurla recorded heavy rain to the tune of 85 mm, Ratnagiri 45 mm, Wardha 39 mm, Amravati 31 mm, Akola 23 mm, Nashik 19 mm, Kolhapur 19 mm, Satara 14 mm, Dahanu 7 mm, Nagpur 6 mm, whereas Mumbai recorded 5 mm of light spells.

On the other hand, the rain maintained its intensity over parts of Vidarbha and the region saw a few light to moderate spells.

Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra regions experienced light spells of rain with isolated moderate-showers.

As per Skymet Weather, this rain was due to the persistence of the cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat.

In addition to this, the offshore trough is also seen to be extending from coastal Karnataka to the Kerala coast.
