Following the Supreme Court's order directing Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar to co-operate with CBI, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee described the development on Tuesday as a "moral victory."

Lashing out at CBI Banerjee said that Kumar had written several letters to the Central agency stating that he is ready to meet CBI officials.

"But what were they (CBI) started doing? They went to his (Kumar's) house to arrest him. The Supreme Court has also directed them (CBI) not to arrest Rajeev," said Banerjee. She was speaking to reporters at the venue of her dharna against CBI in Central Kolkata.

Earlier a standoff took place between the Kolkata Police and CBI with the letter's attempt to question Kumar at his residence regarding the chit fund scam.
