The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) will undertake the construction of Sri Venkateswara temple in the 25 acre plot allotted for it in Amaravati.

TTD officials led by Joint Executive officer P Bhaskar presented their plans, which are as per Agama and Vastu sastra, to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.

Naidu advised the officials to protect the sanctity of the temple with ancient culture and said that with separate funds, modern facilities should be provided outside the temple.

The officials said that they designed the temple by taking inspiration from the Pallava, Chola, Chalukya and Vijayanagara style of architecture.

However, A final decision on the designs is yet to be taken.

Examples of the Pallava architecture include the 7th Century Kailasanatha temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and the Vaikunta perumal temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, in Kanchipuram.

Fine examples of Chola architecture include the 11 Century structures at Tanjore and Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Tiruchurapalli district of Tamil Nadu.

The temples at Badami, Aihole and the Virupaksha temple at Pattadakal in Bijapur district of Karnataka show the Chalukya architecture and the Vijayanagara architecture is seen at the splendid temples of Hazara rama and Vittala in Hampi built during the reign of Krishnadevaraya from 1509-50 AD.
