Last Updated 25 May 2011, 09:38 IST

The withheld results will be declared after submission of the investigation report of the two-member committee that was constituted to probe into the matter, Prof Dhande of IIT Kanpur said.

The committee comprising IIT Kanpur's senior professor Ashwani Kumar and Legal Officer C P Singh has been asked to submit its report by June 5, Dhande added.

The Gyani Jail Singh Engineering College in Bhatinda was black-listed and three teachers, including the Centre in-charge, were debarred from participating in any administrative work of IIT after reports said that some students indulged in cheating at the centre.

The report also said that the students were also given extra time to solve the paper. Following the report, results of 30 aspirants were withheld.

The decision to this effect was taken after a report was submitted by a probe committee constituted by IIT- Roorkee which had confirmed the charges of copying.

Dhande, however, clarified that results of only those candidates sitting in a particular class room from where copying was reported have been withheld and not of all aspirants who appeared in that centre.

Meanwhile, results of over 4 lakh candidates who had appeared for the JEE conducted for admissions into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) were declared today.

IIT Kanpur was the nodal agency to conduct the examinations for 2011. The exam was held on April 10.
