Teenmurti Chowk is going to be the first stop for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New Delhi after he arrives in the city for a six-day India tour on Sunday.
Netanyahu will drive straight from the airport to Teenmurti Chowk to pay homage at the memorial of the soldiers of Mysore, Hyderabad and Jodhpur who had fought for the Allies to liberate Haifa - now the third largest city of Israel - from Ottoman Empire in 1918 during the First World War.
The soldiers of Mysore Lancers, Jodhpur Lancers and Hyderabad Lancers had taken part in the historic Battle of Haifa on September 23, 1918.
The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday made public the itinerary of Israel's Prime Minister, who is also likely to visit Agra, Mumbai and Ahmedabad apart from New Delhi.
Netanyahu may be accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who may receive him at the airport - reciprocating the gesture Israeli Prime Minister had extended to him during his landmark visit to the West Asian nation in July last year.
During his visit to Israel last July, Modi, himself, visited the Haifa War Memorial and paid tribute to Indian soldiers of 5 Imperial Service Cavalry Brigade, which had liberated the garrisoned town protected by a joint force of Ottomans, Germany, Austria and Hungary.
