9 selected for Sadhana Rajya Prashasti

Sadhana National Cultural Foundation will organise its 12th Vasanthotsava ‘Kala Sambhrama’ at Town Hall in the city on March 2.

Speaking to reporters here, the Foundation president K V Krishnadas said that nine achievers have been selected for ‘Sadhana Rajya Prashasti 2018-19’.

The award winners are senior actor Ramesh Bhat (Film), senior character artiste Kamaneedharan (Film and theatre), Y K Sandhya Sharma (Literature), Ganesh Kasargod (Journalism), K H Dasappa Rao (Yakshagana), Dr B M Hegde (Medical education), Kudroli Ganesh (Magic) and Kanthadiguthu Harish Pergade (Social service).

Sadhana Yuva Prshasthi will be conferred on director Ismail Moodushedde. The award will carry a citation, a medal and felicitation.

The Hamsakavya National Award, instituted by the Foundation for the best collection of poems, will be presented to ‘Varanandi Prathime’ by Jyothi Guruprasad and the award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.

The Kathayajna National Award for the best collection of stories will be given to ‘Onahatti Avra Boodi Matthu Kenda’ by Prof B R Police Patil and the award carries a purse of Rs 15,000 and a citation.

Moodbidri Dhanalakshmi Cashew Industries Head Sripathi Bhat will preside over the Vasanthotsava programme. Karavali Group of Colleges founder President S Ganesh Rao will inaugurate the programme.

After the stage programme, magician Kudroli Ganesh and team will present a magic show. Natyollasa Nruthya will be presented by a team of Nandagokula of Arehole Prathishtana. A variety of ‘Chende Nada Vaibhava’ will be presented by Konchadi Mookambika Chede team.
