Nitte varsity bags Sakura exchange prog

Nitte (Deemed to be University) has bagged the prestigious Sakura Exchange Programme for the 7th consecutive year.

The varsity has bagged the programme based on the project proposal submitted by Prof Furukawa Seishi, Principal Investigator and Dr Harish Madhyastha as Co investigator for Japan Science and Technology (JST) Travel Fellowship Programme, University of Miyazaki, Japan for continued collaboration with the university.

Eleven clinical doctors from K S Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte will visit the University of Miyazaki from February 11 to 19, under the Sakura Science Plan.

This is part of the effort by JST Agency to promote scientific and cultural exchange. It is entirely funded by Japan Science and Technology which aims at enhancing exchange of the youths between Asian countries and Japan. It hopes to activate various exchanges in the field of science and technology between the two universities.

Participants from the Nitte are Dr Tanmay Bhat, Professor, and Dr Divyakiran Shivakumar, Post Graduate, Department of General Medicine; Dr Shricharith Shetty, Assistant Professor, Dept of Dermatology; Dr Vijith Vittal Shetty, Assistant Professor, Dept of Medical Oncology; Dr Seema Pavaman, Associate Professor; Dr Ashwi Ramakrishnan, Post Graduate, Dept of Pediatrics; Dr Venkata Tejaswi, Senior Resident, Dept of Radiology; Dr Zulfiya Shabnam, Senior Resident, Department of OBG and Gyneacology; Dr Prabhath Gujjadi, Asst Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Dr Raksha Ramesh, Post Graduate, Department of Surgery.
